Classic clamping vs. form-fit connection
The ORIS TRACC is secured to the ball head of the towbar using a classic clamping mechanism. The carrier must be correctly aligned and then secured. This principle is widely used and compatible with almost all towbars.
The ORIS TRACC FIX4BIKE® for FIX4BIKE® towbars, on the other hand, uses a form-fit connection. The carrier is placed on top, automatically aligned and locks into place with a click. No readjustment is necessary.

In everyday use, the difference between the two systems is particularly evident during installation. The ORIS TRACC requires alignment and tightening, which can take some time depending on your experience.

Both systems are designed for the safe transport of bicycles and e-bikes and meet the highest standards of stability and load-bearing capacity. However, the ORIS TRACC FIX4BIKE® sets new standards in the connection between the bike carrier and the towbar.
With the classic TRACC, the mount is secured by clamping onto the ball head. With the ORIS TRACC FIX4BIKE, the forces exerted are largely transferred via two special pins located on the side of the ball neck. This creates a particularly stable connection that inspires confidence: the ORIS TRACC FIX4BIKE® sits absolutely firmly on both the horizontal and vertical axes and easily withstands an emergency stop or an evasive manoeuvre.

That depends on the vehicle, the fitted towbar and your individual requirements. If you’re looking for maximum compatibility, the ORIS TRACC is a good choice. If you place particular value on easy installation and a secure connection, you’ll benefit from the ORIS TRACC FIX4BIKE® system.
The maximum load capacity for both systems is 60 kilograms. In practice, this means that the first two bikes may each weigh up to 30 kilograms. When using the extension for a third bike, this is designed for a lower weight to keep the total load within safe limits. Always observe the permissible load capacity of the vehicle, the towbar and the bike carrier; the lowest of the three values always applies.
Yes. The ORIS TRACC weighs 16.9 kilograms (+/- 3%), whilst the ORIS TRACC FIX4BIKE® weighs 18.4 kilograms (+/- 3%). Both figures offer a good balance between stability and manoeuvrability.
The distance between the bike rails is 230 millimetres on both systems. This provides sufficient space to safely transport even larger bikes or e-bikes side by side.
Both systems are designed for frame diameters of 25 to 80 millimetres. With optional longer ratchet straps, larger or special frame geometries can also be securely fastened. This makes the carriers suitable for a wide range of bike types.
Yes. Both the bike carrier itself and the mounted bikes can be secured against theft. This provides extra security in everyday use, particularly during longer stops or when travelling.
