A detachable towbar is perfect for drivers who only occasionally use a trailer or bike carrier. When the towbar is not needed, the detachable towbar neck remains in the garage or is stored elsewhere. The downside: the towbar neck is often misplaced and eventually can no longer be found. This is especially frustrating when buying a used vehicle with a towbar and the towbar neck is missing.
In this case, a quick replacement is needed. Instead of having a completely new towbar installed, there is a much simpler and more cost-effective solution: a replacement towbar neck.

Would you like to make your ORIS AK41 towbar ready for the new standard in bicycle and e-bike transport? No problem: existing ORIS AK41 systems can easily be upgraded to the patented FIX4BIKE® system by replacing the existing towbar neck with one featuring FIX4BIKE®. This is also possible for vehicles for which no FIX4BIKE® towbar is offered. Please make sure that you are permitted to order and use the towbar neck with FIX4BIKE® pins instead of the towbar neck for the standard AK41 towbar. Please contact your trusted workshop or our customer service team for further advice.

In principle, yes, as long as the towbar is not used and there is no risk. However, if safety-relevant components are damaged or parts could come loose, the vehicle should not continue to be operated before an inspection has been carried out. In the worst case, a defective towbar can put other road users at risk.
