ORIS: TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION FOR MODERN MOBILITY

For more than 70 years, ACPS Automotive has helped shape technological progress in towbar systems. More than 140 patents, especially for innovative swivelling systems and mechatronic solutions, demonstrate the company’s extensive development and technology expertise. ACPS Automotive has played a key role in shaping many developments that are now standard for vehicle manufacturers.

Under the ORIS brand, customers in the accessories and retrofit market also benefit from this OE know-how. Towbars, bike carriers and system solutions combine innovative technology with high functionality, safety and everyday practicality. Pioneering developments such as FIX4BIKE® and the first fully electrically swivelling towbar are examples of our commitment to rethinking mobility and continuously advancing it through technology.

Technology

At ORIS, technology is created through close interaction between development, design, testing and production. New solutions are specifically aligned with the requirements of modern vehicles, different drive concepts and a wide range of usage scenarios. ORIS relies on digital development methods, extensive testing and precise technical design down to the smallest detail.

Leading vehicle manufacturers also trust this know-how in original equipment. At the same time, aftermarket customers benefit from many years of experience, high quality standards and technical expertise from the OE business. Modern manufacturing processes and automated workflows ensure robust, precisely fitting and durable products in consistently high quality.

Durability

A towbar is often used for many years. It has to withstand rain, dirt, road salt, temperature changes, loads and repeated use. Durability is therefore not the result of a single feature, but of many details working together.

ORIS relies on vehicle-specific development, high-quality materials, precise workmanship and robust designs. Our experience from original equipment also flows into aftermarket solutions, adapted to the requirements of retrofitting.

This results in towbars that make vehicles more versatile in the long term and remain reliable in everyday use, on journeys and in professional applications.

FIX4BIKE®

FIX4BIKE® is the system developed by ORIS for particularly easy and safe bike transport. The decisive difference lies in the connection between towbar and bike carrier. Instead of relying on conventional clamping on the towball, FIX4BIKE® uses a form-fit and force-locking connection for particularly safe bike transport.

This also makes FIX4BIKE® compatible bike carriers particularly easy to fit and lock securely.

Research & Development

Before a towbar is fitted to a vehicle, it goes through an extensive development process. Body structure, load specifications, mounting points, installation space, electrical system, operation and design all have to be considered.

At ORIS, development, design, simulation, prototyping and testing work closely together. Modern CAx software helps develop components virtually and assess loads at an early stage. In prototype construction, solutions are tested directly on the vehicle.

This development work results in series-ready systems for original equipment and the aftermarket. They include proven towbars as well as patented innovations and comfortable swivelling systems.
